One of the principal reasons behind the significant defeat of the BRS in the 2023 Telangana assembly election was the national political dreams. KCR had his eyes on national glory as he upgraded TRS to BRS and wanted to have a say at the national level.
This transition was not smooth as the BRS did not just get annihilated at the national political level, but also lost its footing in the homeland state of Telangana.
And ever, since there have been several complaints from the BRS leadership and the working cadres to bring back the old name of TRS and focus mainly on Telangana. But it appears that case is having none of this as he is still focussed on the national dreams.

KTR gave the strong application that his father KCR is going to play a decisive role in national politics as the upcoming days are going to open doors for regional parties, other than the Congress and BJP. He said both Rahul Gandhi and Narendra Modi have failed the country which opens the gates for strong leaders like KCR.
At a time when KCR is limiting himself at the Telangana level itself as he had been hibernating after the 2023 election, KTR has now entered about the national dreams. The primary goal for the BRS must be to uproot sitting CM Revanth, while also countering the first growing BJP in Telangana.
Moreover, KCR faces significant competition from within his own family, particularly from Kavitha. With so much working against the BRS at the grassroots level, KCR’s focus on national politics is the last thing the party leadership would want right now, a seasoned political analyst commented.
