Huge Nominations Filed, Jagan’s Allegations Fall Flat

Andhra Pradesh has witnessed a massive number of nominations for the upcoming MPTC and ZPTC elections, with candidates from various political parties entering the contest in large numbers. However, YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has continued to target the NDA government, drawing criticism from NDA leaders.

According to the nomination figures, a total of 51,902 nominations were filed for 9,829 MPTC seats across 28 districts. Another 5,724 nominations were received for 659 ZPTC seats. The final day alone saw 25,016 MPTC nominations and 3,315 ZPTC nominations.

TDP candidates led the MPTC nominations with 22,013 filings, followed by YSRCP with 20,556. Jana Sena candidates filed 4,609 nominations, while the BJP received 1,150.

For ZPTC seats, TDP candidates filed 2,078 nominations, while YSRCP candidates submitted 1,815. Jana Sena accounted for 679 nominations and the BJP for 255.

TDP leaders are questioning Jagan’s allegations against the government, pointing to the large number of nominations filed across the state. They have accused him of making allegations during brief visits from Bengaluru and leaving without engaging in sustained political activity on the ground.

The opposition leader’s approach has been described by NDA circles as a “hit-and-run” strategy, with critics claiming that he comes to Andhra Pradesh mainly to hold press conferences and make allegations before returning to Bengaluru.

The nomination figures indicate strong participation by candidates from both the ruling alliance and YSRCP.
