RRR Alerts Modi On Amaravati & Vizag Steel Plant

Narsapuram MP Raghurama Krishnam Raju claimed to have met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and briefed him of stalling the construction in Amaravati and many other issues bothering the people in Andhra Pradesh.

Speaking to the media, he said that he spoke at length about the injustice being rendered to the capital city of Amaravati. “I told him that Rs 50,000 crore had already been spent on building Amaravati and that if the capital city needs to be shifted to another place, the state government has to pay a compensation of Rs 1 lakh crore to the farmers who parted with their land for the cause, signing an agreement,” he said.

The MP also told that he informed Modi about the legal battle on Amaravati and urged his support in the matter.

The MP said that he told the PM that the state was in the red and not in a position to at least pay the monthly salaries of the government employees. He also reportedly informed Modi about the recent spate of attacks on temples.

He claimed that he spoke about the privatisation of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant too and how Andhra people were connected with it by sentiment.

RRR said that Modi responded in the positive and assured him that a decision would be taken only after taking all issues into consideration. The MP said that he has confidence that the PM, after being briefed, would take a right decision with regard to VSP.

The VSP employees launched an agitation opposing the Centre’s proposal to privatise the steel plant. There are reports that South Korean steel manufacturing company POSCO, in partnership with Korean car manufacturing firm Hyundai, would take over the public sector unit.

On the rampant religious conversions in the state, the MP said that he submitted a 25-page note to Modi. The MP said the PM, who lent a patient ear, was taken aback when he told him that the state government had called for tenders for construction of churches.

RRR said that the PM asked how could the state government call for tenders for building structures of worship belonging to a specific religion.

The MP told that he also made some suggestions on the new farm laws, against which the farmers have been protesting for the last few days braving the cold and police action.

Raju suggested that Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and his party MPs should also meet the PM and make an appeal.
