‘Pawan Kalyan Is Powerless Star’

YCP MLA Undavalli Sridevi made satirical comments against Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan. She mocked at Pawan for getting defeated in both the places from where he contested while newcomers like her could get into the corridors of the Assembly.

There is no benefit the state can expect from Pawan, she said. The MLA termed Pawan as Powerless Star. The actor-turned-politician is tagged Power Star in films.

The YCP MLA reminded about Pawan’s disastrous electoral debut. During the Assembly elections, he contested from Gajuwaka and Bhimavaram but failed to win either seat. “While a newcomer like me could get into the Assembly, he could not and this should help us to understand the power of Pawan,” she ridiculed.

“He speaks to the electorate and party cadre once in six months and he has no knowledge of what he speaks. He toured the Palnadu region and surrounding areas, including our (Tadikonda) constituency. What would he do by touring those areas? Did he take up any welfare programmes in these places,” she asked.

Sridevi mocked Pawan for frequently claiming that he had floated the party to question the administrators. “What can he achieve by appearing before the public once in a blue moon? If he is a committed leader, he has to be with the public and understand their grievances. He should try to ensure that the government’s welfare programmes reach the needy and genuine beneficiaries,” she advised.

Trying to draw a similarity between Pawan and Opposition leader N. Chandrababu Naidu, the YCP MLA said that if Naidu can be called ‘Hyderabad vasi’, Pawan can be called ‘Agnyatavasi’, which is also the title of one of his films directed by Trivikram Srinivas.

“There is no benefit that can be derived from Pawan’s tour as he makes public appearance only once in a while and speaks only during that time,” she said.

People themselves will answer all the questions Pawan would pose, she added.
