Vizag Gas Leak: CM Jagan Proud of Rescue Ops

Unfazed by the Corona Virus pandemic, Andhra Pradesh state government has taken a swift action for the recent tragedy in Visakhapatnam where the deadly chemical leak resulted in loss of 12 lives and affected over thousand people.

CM YS Jagan, who had earlier visited the city soon after the incident and met the victims at Vizag’s KGH hospital, today conducted a video conference and did a follow up on the help to victims. CM Jagan has expressed satisfaction over the work of officials in Vizag gas incident. He appreciated all officials who worked tireleslly. He said he is proud of the swift rescue operations that were carried out in Vizag soon after the leak of toxic styrene gas from one of its containers.

CM Jagan has conducted a video conference with the officials and the victims of Vizag’s gas leak tragedy. He spoke directly with the victims and personally enquired about their problems. The victims thanked CM Jagan for depositing the announced compensation of Rs 1 Crore – an ex gratia of Rs 1 Crore to the bereaved families in Vizag gas leak tragedy.

The victims also appealed to CM to look into his promise of offering one Job/employment to each family who suffered in the tragedy. CM Jagan has directed officials that no family of victim should suffer and asked officials to ensure that victims won’t suffer further.

Meanwhile, CM Jagan stated that the work of the Committee appointed on LG Polymers India’s factory at RR Venkatapuram in Gopalapatnam in Vizag’s industrial area is going on. He said he is waiting for the Committee’s report to take stern action against the company for its costly mistake that took lives.
