Maharashtra Gives Green Signal For 50 Percent Occupancy In Theatres

Maharashtra state government released the plans for unlocking the state amidst the decline in COVID-19 cases. The Uddhav Thackeray-led Maharashtra government issued an order where they will implement the unlock plans in a phased manner. The government order will come into action from June 7th. The state will be unlocked in five levels, depending on the level of severity of Covid-19 in the districts. On this note, the government issued guidelines. According to this, the theatres in the state will be opened with 50 percent occupancy.

The state government handled the Corona crisis nicely and ensured to come out of it in no time. Maharashtra is the first state in the country to give permission to cinema theatres, with fifty percent occupancy, after the second wave of Corona Virus. The theatres in the state are closed for almost a year. Except for malls and a few theatres, all others are non-operational. The producers and star heroes also decided not to release any new movies unless the government gives permission to hundred percent occupancy.

With the government having control over the Covid situation in the state, the officials took this decision to unlock the state gradually and get life moving on normally. However, safety precautions must be followed by the citizens in public places.

The decision taken by the Maharashtra government is instilling hope in the producers of Tollywood that the governments in the Telugu states will also take a similar decision in no time. The situation of the Covid crisis in both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh is slowly coming under control.
