Jagan Govt Shocks Tollywood On Ticket Prices

The Andhra Pradesh government has shocked the Telugu film industry on the ticket prices in cinema halls and multiplexes. This issue popped up during the release of Powerstar Pawan Kalyan’s ‘Vakeel Saab’ and AP government has denied cinema halls to hike the ticket prices. Jagan government even held raids in a few theatres and closed a few for increasing the prices without authorisation.

Earlier bid budget films and of top stars, would have the feasibility of increasing the ticket prices but in a sudden decision, Jagan government refrained theatres and exhibitors from doing so. ‘Vakeel Saab’ producer ‘Dil’ Raju was shocked with the Jagan government’s action and added he doesn’t have any clue why the AP government is doing so. But many believed that it was politically motivated.

And the other day AP government has permitted theatres to reopen with fifty percent seating capacity in the cinema halls and today the government made amendments to the G.O. number 1273 which was first issued in 1955.

According to this latest G.O., the AP government will decide the prices of tickets depending upon the category of seating in cinema halls time to time. This means the producers, exhibitors and distributors will have no right to take a call on ticket prices and the decision completely lies with the state government.
