Kishan Reddy Gets Tourism Portfolio

Kishan Reddy, who has been promoted from Minister of State (MoS) for Home Affairs to Union Cabinet Ministry rank, has been allocated the portfolio. According to reports, Kishan Reddy has got the Cultural and Tourism portfolio. In addition to this, Kishan Reddy has been given the additional task of development of the North-east region.

The meetings of Cabinet Ministers and Council of Ministers (CoM) will be held tomorrow, July 8, at 5 pm and 7 pm respectively. Among the 36 new faces in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’ s reshuffled cabinet, eight have been identified as lawyers, four are doctors, two former IAS officers and four MBA degree holders, besides several engineers, making it a perfect mix of professionals.

After PM Narendra Modi returned to power for a second term in May 2019, he announced the ‘Cabinet Reshuffle’. 43 leaders have sworn-in as the Union Ministers. Of 43, 15 Ministers were inducted into the Union Cabinet and 28 Ministers inducted as Ministers of State.

12 senior Cabinet ministers have not secured any posts in Modi’s cabinet. Former Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan, MoS Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, Law & Electronics and IT Ravi Shankar Prasad and Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar haven’t secured berths in Modi’s cabinet
