Pat Cummins Creates History In IPL

He had been bowling his sweat out on the flat pitches of Pakistan in the Test series just a few days ago. Still, he managed to lead his team to the victory in that series 1-0. Now, he has entered the Indian Premier League which is a different format altogether and he has been delivered a different performance according to this format.

We are talking about Australian Test captain Pat Cummins, who is probably the best all-format cricketer in international cricket right now. Until now, he is known for his impeccable bowling skills.

Tonight, he showed what an incredible batter he is. Pat Cummins has just equaled the record for the fastest fifty in the history of the Indian Premier League (56* off 15 balls). He scored a half-century in just 14 balls against Mumbai Indians and led his team Kolkata Knight Riders to a comfortable victory.

KL Rahul is the other player who scored an IPL fifty in 14 balls. He scored it in 2018 against Delhi Capitals, when he was representing Punjab Kings.

When Cummins came to bat, KKR was not in a very comfortable position to win the game. But with his blistering innings, he changed the entire course of the game and finished the match with four overs left.

Mumbai Indians bowler Daniel Sams conceded 35 runs in the 16th over and handed over an easy victory for KKR. With this loss, Mumbai lost three in three games and is in the ninth position on the points table.
