CT Final: Modest Target, Can India Do It?

The much anticipated final match of champions trophy is halfway through. After electing to bat first, New Zealand got to a modest score of 251 and presented India with a target of 252 to get in their quota of 50 overs.

Indian spinner Varun Chakravarty spoke at the Midway conference and stated that the pitch that is being used today is reasonably favourable for batting and sounded confident about India chasing down the target.

Even in the general assessment, the pitch today looked relatively favorable for stroke play. So, India will be the firm favourites to chase down this target and lift the trophy.

But again, New Zealand is a team that never gives up on a game till the final ball and we can expect them to fight with this total till the end.

Seniors Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will hold the key for India in the run chase. All eyes will now be on the run chase and the prospect of India playing a clinical innings with the bat and completing a comprehensive win the avenge the 2019 World Cup semis loss against New Zealand.
