India are the New champions! Team India successfully secured the victory in the final with New Zealand. Although 252 looked like a modest target initially, everything was quite good for Team India until they made the first hundred runs. But then, the struggle began. At one point, what looked like an easy match turned out to be a struggle for survival.
With the dismissals of Shubhman Gill and Virat Kohli, the team struggled a bit. Although Rohit Sharma and Axar Patel tried to build a partnership, their dismissals also raised the tension in the middle. In the end, Ravindra Jadeja and KL Rahul ensured the team is in a comfortable stage to taste the grand success.
With this success, team India took revenge against New Zealand. Both teams entered into a clash in the final after 25 years. The last time India faced New Zealand in a Champions Trophy final was in 2000. After 25 years, Team India beat New Zealand to secure a grand victory.
The New Zealand cricketers dropped some catches in between which cost them this failure. With an over left, India won by four runs.
With this victory, the Indian cricketers will be looking forward to Indian Premier League, starting the 22nd of this month.
