Women World Cup Prize Bigger Than Men WC: What’s Up?

Cricket is one of the biggest sports on the planet and in accordance with this, the prize money paid to the winners of ICC tournaments are also pretty significant. But in comparison, the prize money for the men’s tournaments are significantly higher than that of the women’s tournaments.

But for a change the prize money for the 2025 edition of Women’s World Cup that is going to start at the end of the month is bigger than the men’s World Cup prize money from the year 2023.

According to the latest reports, the winner of the upcoming 2025, Women’s World Cup will be getting Rs 39.41 crore prize money. On the other hand, the winner of the men’s World Cup in 2023, Australia took home ₹35.19 crore.

The total prize pot for the 2025 women’s World Cup is ₹122 crore which is again higher than the 2023 men’s cricket World Cup which had Rs 88 crore pot.

While it is an obvious fact that the men’s World Cup brings much bigger revenues, it appears that ICC is fully committed to developing the woman sport as well. The massive allocation of funds for the World Cup event are clearly signaling the same.

The upcoming women’s World Cup will start on September 30 and the tournament is going to be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka.
