Police Case Against Indian Star Cricketer: What’s Up?

It is already known that the Indian T20 team created history by winning the T20 World Cup as this is the first time that a nation has been able to defend the cup. Subsequently, the star player in the team celebrated the occasion to the fullest capacity.

It turns out that this celebration has landed star cricketer Hardik Pandya in deep trouble as a police case has been filed against him.

An advocate named Wajid Khan lodged a complaint with the Shivaji Nagar police station for insulting a national flag. He is claiming that Hardik wrapped the tricolor around his body and danced and lay down with the flag tied to his back. Pune city Police have accepted the complaint and further investigation is underway.

The advocate reportedly said he believed this is an insult to the flag. “I have filed a complaint at the Shivaji Nagar Police Station. When I went to file it, they initially told me the incident happened elsewhere, not here. I told them that since the national flag is a symbol of the entire nation, a complaint can be filed at Shivaji Nagar. They have now accepted my complaint and provided me with a copy.”

It has to be seen if there would be any severe court or police action against Hardik Pandya over this incident now. But considering that these kind of celebrations are normal, the repercussions might not been too sharp and the chances are that Hardik might get away with a reprimand.
