IPL Round 1: Who’s On Top, Who’s At Bottom?

We are nearly done with the first round of IPL 2026 as all the teams except for Delhi and Lucknow completed their opening games of the season. Let us have a look at the positioning of the teams on the points table.

At the top of the table, we have Rajasthan Royals, which has a positive run rate of 4, which is pretty extraordinary at the start of the tournament. Significant victory against Chennai Super Kings has largely helped the team.

In second position, we have defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru while the title favourite for this season, Mumbai Indians is on third position. We have Punjab placed fourth on the list.

At the very bottom of the table, we have Chennai Super Kings, which is suffering with a negative rate of 4 and overcoming this is going to be one of the biggest challenges for the team this year. In the ninth position, we have Sunrisers Hyderabad, who will need some momentum to wrestle back into the tournament.

KKR is ranked eight while Gujarat is ranked seventh. The before mention the teams Delhi and Lucknow will be facing each other tomorrow, and the result of this game will decide the overall look of the points after the completion of the first round of games.

As things stand, both Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad desperately need a turnaround immediately.
