Yes, Bumrah And Siraj were Racially Abused, Confirms Cricket Australia

During the third Test match between India and Australia in Sydney, team India bowlers Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj have claimed that they were racially abused. Bumrah and Siraj complained the same to ICC officials and also to the on-field umpires of the match.

This issue was taken by Cricket Australia (CA) and they have done a detailed investigation. On Wednesday, CA submitted a report to ICC and confirmed that the racial abuse was true. However, CA added that it could not trace those responsible for this act. CCTV footage, ticketing data and interviews with spectators are being analysed to locate the mischief mongers.

As CA confirmed the racial abuse, it has offered an unconditional apology to BCCI and team India. “CA has a zero tolerance policy towards discriminatory behaviour in all forms,” said Sean Carroll, Head of Integrity and Security for CA.

India has won the Border-Gavaskar trophy 2-1 and registered one of the greatest victories in the longer format of the game.
