Covid Restrictions Are Back In Maharashtra

Maharashtra government brings back the Covid restrictions amid the rise in covid cases in the state.

According to the new set of guidelines, it is mandatory to wear masks in public places except in open spaces. Mask in closed public spaces like trains, buses, cinemas, auditoriums, offices, hospitals, colleges, and schools are a must.

The state’s health department on Friday asked the district and civic authorities to ramp up coronavirus testing as the numbers of samples being examined had fallen while cases were rising.

Apart from the mask mandate, there are more detailed guidelines issued today by the Maharashtra government,

SARI (Severe Acute Respiratory Infections) and Fever surveillance are mandatory.

People need to get tested for Covid-19 if they show visible symptoms.

Elderly people must be communicated repeatedly about social distancing, mask use, and sanitization.

Vulnerable populations need to be communicated about the risks they may face if Covid cases continue to surge.

Covid appropriate behavior is mandatory.

On June 1, around 1100 cases have been recorded in Maharashtra and it is the highest since February 24.
