In a shocking and disgusting incident in Chandigarh, five schoolboys raped a girl from class 7.
A class 7 student of a government school in Chandigarh was allegedly raped repeatedly by five boys from her school and one of the accused is her classmate. The four others are the boys from Class 9.
After committing the crime, one of the students told his friends who in turn raped the girl at different locations including a park.
The case was registered on May 18, but the police did not reveal it due to the sensitivity of the case. The five boys were arrested and sent to a juvenile home.
The victim’s mother noticed changes in her behavior and confronted the school authorities and that was when the incident came to light. The school authorities immediately informed senior officials in the Chandigarh education department and the police were informed.
All five boys are minors and have been booked under Sections 376 AB – committing rape on a woman under 12 years of age and Section 4 – Punishment for penetrative sexual assault and 6 aggravated penetrative assault of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POSCO).
