Hello Moon! India Successfully Lands On Moon

August 23, 2023 – In a remarkable achievement, India’s ISRO has successfully executed a soft Moon landing with Chandrayaan-3’s Lander Module. This marks India as the fourth country to softly land on the Moon’s surface. The Lander Module’s complex landing was overseen by ISRO’s ISTRAC in Bengaluru.

After separating from the propulsion module following a 34-day journey, the Lander Module underwent deboosting operations on August 18 and 20, modifying its orbit. It’s now in a 25 km x 134 km orbit, with a planned landing around 6:04 p.m. IST on August 23. The powered descent is set to begin at 5:45 p.m.

ISRO reassured the public about the mission’s progress, confirming it’s on schedule. Rigorous checks continue, and the Mission Operations Complex is abuzz with excitement.
