Harry Potter’s ‘Dumbledore’ Actor Michael Gambon Dies

Actor Michael Gambon, who is best known for playing the role of Albus Dumbledore in ‘Harry Potter’ movies has died. Michael Gambon was 82 and died following a ’bout of pneumonia’ according to the statement issued on behalf of his family.

‘We are devastated to announce the loss of Sir Michael Gambon. Beloved husband and father, Michael died peacefully in hospital with his wife Anne and son Fergus at his bedside, following a bout of pneumonia. Michael was 82. We ask that you respect our privacy at this painful time and thank you for your messages of support and love,’ the statement issued by his publicist Clair Dobbs.

Playing the role of Headmaster at Hogwarts in the Harry Potter series is the best remembered about ‘Dumbledore’ Michael Gambon. He appeared in six out of eight Harry Potter films.

The actor Hames Phelps who played Fred Weasley posted a tribute to Gambon on X, ‘Very sorry to hear about the passing of Michael Gambon. He was, on and off the camera, a legend. He was always very funny and very welcoming to share any knowledge he had.’
