Covid-19: More Than 4000 Active Cases In India

The number of Covid cases has been on the rise in India. India has recorded 4012 fresh cases of Covid-19.

The total number of active cases is 4170 according to the health ministry on Tuesday. Three new deaths were reported in Karnataka in the last 24 hours. The majority of cases were reported from Kerala, Maharashtra, and Karnataka.

Kerala accounted for 128 active cases and Karnataka has 73 new infections in the past 24 hours.

Virologists are suggesting that the JN.1 variant is gradually spreading across the states and may replace XBB lineages as the predominant strain causing COVID-19 in India. The government is suggesting everyone to wear masks in public places to avoid further spread.
