Air India Crash: Black Box Recovered, What’s Inside?

The Air India plane crash near to the Ahmedabad airport resulted in 241 people losing their lives. Additionally, the impact of the crash resulted in the loss of 20+ medicos. Meanwhile, the media reports reveal us that the officials have recovered the Black Box which is crucial for their investigation into the plane crash.

The Ministry of Civil Aviation reportedly located the Black Box near the tail of the plane. The Aircraft Accident Investigaton Bureau team recovered the black box at the rooftop of the resident doctors’ hostel building.

The black box is crucial in getting the crucial information. It is a data recorder which records the Flight Data Recorder (FDR) and Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR). FDR will record the technical data and CDR will record the cockpit conversation between two pilots until the last minute.

In reality, the black box is actually painted bright yellow or orange. It can come in various shapes, such as spheres, cylinders, and domes. The British Royal Air Force (RAF) first used the term “black box” during World War II.
