Trump Suggests Vance As His Heir Apparent

US President Donald Trump suggested that Vice President JD Vance is most likely his heir apparent to serve as the nominee for the Republican Party in the 2028 presidential election. He made the statement when reporters questioned if Vance was his heir apparent to the Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement. “In all fairness, he’s the vice-president.”

At the same time, Trump also suggested that Vance and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio should get together for a future ticket from the Republican Party, during the 2028 presidential election. The next presidential election is three years away but Trump has a significant influence on the Republican party and his support to any particular individual could likely have an impact on the nominations. It is worth remembering that Trump did not endorse for his successor in 2028 but termed Vice President as a capable individual.

Vice President Vance, 40, has been able to maneuver a significant role in Trump administration, serving both as the Vice President and a key diplomat championing Trump’s domestic policy at home and foreign policy.

Rubio has been a significant member of Trump administration tackling the complicated foreign policy dilemmas. Rubio is also the first person since Henry Kissinger to serve both as Secretary of State and national security adviser.
