Don’t Join the Russian Army, Warns India!

The Ministry of External Affairs has cautioned Indian citizens not to fall for offers to join the Russian army, saying such moves are extremely dangerous.

MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said the government has already asked Russian authorities to release Indians who were recruited and to stop this practice. The ministry is also in touch with the families of those affected.

Earlier this year, it was reported that 127 Indians had joined the Russian army. After talks with Moscow, 98 of them have been released, but officials are still working to bring back the rest.

The government has made it clear: Indian citizens should not risk their lives by taking up such offers.
