Telangana Techie Ends Life Over Love Failure

In a heart-breaking incident, a Telangana youth, who migrated to London to work in a tech firm, ended his life for not being able to unite with the love of his life.

His family members staged a protest with the body in the freezer at the police station in Armoor alleging negligence of the cops in following up the ‘love failure’ case led to the death. They withdrew the protest only after ACP Venkateswar Reddy promised to ensure justice will be done to them.

According to the police, twentynine-year-old Srikanth, the younger son of Nagireddy Raja Reddy and Rajavva, native of Dhonchanda in Ergatla mandal, Nizamabad district, was working as a software employee in London. He had been in love with a woman for the last six years.

She alerted him that her family members were finding suitable grooms to get her married and Srikanth rushed to India five months ago. She and Srikanth told her parents about their love but they rejected their proposal. They even fixed her marriage with another guy on November 7. Unable to bear the trauma, Srikanth consumed pesticide to end his life.

Learning about the extreme step taken by their son, his parents shifted him to Armoor hospital and registered a case with the police against the woman’s parents. The cops even recorded the victim’s statement. Then Srikanth was moved to Hyderabad for better treatment.

On November 27, he died while undergoing treatment.
