Former SRH Captain Arrested For Drunk-Driving

Former Australian star batsman and ex-captain of Sun Risers Hyderabad, David Warner was reportedly arrested on Sunday after he failed a breath test due to excess drinking of alcohol and later driving under influence by Sydney police. He was immediately released but charged for the offence.

The 39 old seasoned player was caught during a routine check-up on South Dowling Street Sydney at approximately 11:20 pm on April 5 when he was on a four day break from the ongoing Pakistan Super League in which he is leading Karachi Kings team. He was released after all legal formalities but continues to face the trail for the wrongdoing.

Warner was issued with a court attendance notice for mid-range prescribed concentration of alcohol (PCA), and his New South Wales driving licence is at risk of suspension because he consumed double the permissible limit of alcohol which is a punishable offence. He has been directed to appear in court next month for hearing.

Warner returned to Pakistan to continue participating in PSL. He retired from international cricket in 2024 and later took up the role of a commentator. He holds a stupendous record as a batsman and was part of World Cup winning squads of Australia in 2015 and 2023. He also led Sun Risers Hyderabad to the first title in IPL in 2016.
