India is extremely lenient towards public places regulations. This is perhaps one of the main reasons we see people playing loud music and listening to videos in public, which often disturbs other passengers especially in train and metro.
However, in what could be considered an extremely necessitated decision, the Chennai Metro has decided to enforce a new regulation.
Apparently, the Chennai Metro service authorities are bringing a new regulation where people who listen to loud music and videos without earphones in the public can be subject to ₹2500 fine.
This is a public centric decision that has been taken by the Metro authorities, as we usually see certain people disturbing others by playing loud music from their phones. They do not have any sense of social discipline or decency. So one positive way to bring rationale is by enforcing these fines.
If executed well, then this significant fine amount can prevent certain people from disturbing others at least at metros and this decision is being welcomed unanimously on social media now. This will go down as another appreciable effort from the Vijay government in Tamil Nadu if it comes to implementation shortly.
