India has been witnessing multiple cases of adulteration and food contamination in the recent times, and we are now hearing a shocking addition to the list that has happened in Maharashtra.
According to the latest reports from national media channels, a massive milk adulteration scandal has come to light in Maharashtra. It is suspected that over 2.3 crore litres of adulterated milk may have been supplied across the state over the past six months.
According to reports, the accused allegedly used low-quality milk powder, detergent powder, palm oil, and other chemicals to prepare synthetic milk, which was then mixed with genuine milk before being sold in the market.
It is being established in principal that Nirma washing powder could have been a crucial ingredient in the preparation of this synthetic milk that was later distributed to the common public.
Authorities estimate that around 2.3 lakh kilograms of inferior milk powder were used in the operation. This news broke out after a joint investigation by the Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the police into a synthetic milk racket operating from Dharashiv district.
The fact that a group of individuals were able to supply 2.3 crore litres of synthetic milk to the common public without any suspicion for the last six months is causing many concerns.
