A shocking murder case has come to light in Chennai, where a woman was allegedly killed and her body was cut into pieces. Police suspect that the accused cooked some of the body parts in a biryani vessel in an attempt to destroy evidence, while the remaining parts were packed in a suitcase and sent on a train.
The case came to light after a red suitcase containing human body parts was found on a Tamil Nadu Express train at Agra Railway Station. The suitcase was traced back to Chennai, following which Chennai Police began investigating the case.
Police examined more than 350 CCTV cameras around Chennai Central Railway Station and nearby areas. The footage reportedly showed a man and a woman carrying the suitcase to the station and placing it on the train. Investigators then traced their movements to Guduvanchery.
When police reached the suspected house, they reportedly found blood stains inside. A large biryani vessel was also found in the kitchen. Police suspect that some body parts had been cooked inside the vessel to destroy evidence.
The victim was identified as Hayath Nisha, a woman from Odisha. She was living in Chennai after separating from her husband. Her 19 year old son works as an AC mechanic in Tambaram.
Police suspect that the woman was killed by a couple who were staying with her. The exact reason for the murder is not yet clear. Investigators are looking into possible personal disputes and other motives.
The suspected couple is currently reported to be absconding. Police teams are searching for them and are also trying to recover the remaining body parts, including the victim’s head.
