Spiritual leader Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev broke down while speaking about the tragic Nepal floods, as around 80 members of an Isha group remain missing after a flash flood near the Nepal Tibet border.
According to Sadhguru, the group was returning from the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra and had reached the Gyirong immigration area shortly before the disaster. He said the group leader sent a message at around 9:05 am saying they had reached immigration. Around nine minutes later, the area was hit by the devastating flood.
Sadhguru said the group was believed to be inside the immigration building when it was washed away. He said the Isha Foundation has been unable to get clear information about the members since then.
The group includes 34 men and 46 women from several countries, including the United States, Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom, Germany, France and Nepal. Three volunteers and a doctor staying at nearby hotels are also reportedly unaccounted for.
Speaking from a camp in Tibet, Sadhguru became emotional while describing the situation. He said roads and communication networks were damaged, making it difficult for the Isha Foundation to reach the affected area or get information about the missing people.
Sadhguru said efforts were underway to get permission and reach the affected area with the help of the Indian, Chinese and American embassies.
The rescue operation continues as families and organisations wait for information about those still missing.
