54 Million Views Caused Singer’s Death?

A shocking detail has emerged in the murder of Haryanvi singer Ankit Balyan. Police suspect that a song featuring the 28 year old singer became the reason behind the killing. Ankit was shot dead outside a gym in Uttar Pradesh’s Shamli district on August 26.

Ankit had acted in the song Bhari Court Mein Goli Marenge, which became a huge hit on YouTube with over 54 million views. Police suspect that the song’s popularity and its controversial lyrics attracted the anger of the Gogi gang.

According to reports, members of the Gogi gang believed that the song’s lyrics insulted their leader Jitender Gogi, who was killed inside Delhi’s Rohini court in 2021 by members of the rival Tillu Tajpuriya gang.

The gang reportedly became suspicious of Ankit because Tillu Tajpuriya and the singer belonged to the same social community. They allegedly believed that Ankit had made the song to support their rival gang, despite his claim that he had only acted in it and had no role in its lyrics or music.

Police say Ankit had received threats earlier and had clarified his position. However, the suspicion reportedly continued. The Gogi gang allegedly conducted a recce in Shamli before carrying out the attack, turning a massively popular song into a possible trigger for the shocking murder.
