Oracle is one of the biggest software companies in the world, and they are also known for historical accommodating some of the biggest human workforce groups. However, things have been changing drastically within the company in the last few years.
Extensive alignment with artificial intelligence and subsequent impact on human working force are starting to have consequences.
Oracle had recently fired more than 21,000 employees globally, and the latest development has suggesting that the company is preparing for another massive layoff operation now.
The scale of the layoffs is not clear, but internal estimates circulating among employees suggest that the number of affected employees globally could be in the range of 7,000 to 10,000.
The extent of the impact on Oracle’s India workforce cannot be determined as of yet though. But the numbers could be pretty devastating to say the least.
The latest expected layoffs come after a significant reduction in Oracle’s workforce in the past couple of quarters.
Oracle officially confirmed cutting 21,000 jobs over a 12-month period that got completed in May 31, reducing its global workforce by 13 percent to roughly 141,000 employees. Now another 10,000 employees could be on their way out.
