The boom in Artificial Intelligence has not just made technological advances in various fields, but also increased the number of Billionaires and their combined wealth across the globe. We now have more billionaires than ever as per official data.
According to the latest Billionaire Census by wealth intelligence firm Altrata, the total number of billionaires worldwide increased by 8.2% to reach 3,795 individuals. At the same time, their combined net worth jumped 12.8% to reach an unprecedented $15.1 trillion.
This surge marks the strongest annual growth in billionaire numbers over the last five years. There is a rise in 60% in the number in the last decade as per reliable data.
The major reason towards this growth is attributed to AI because the public companies owned by these billionaires invested significant capital in the field and received strong returns than their industry peers in stock performance.
These rising company valuations directly inflated the stock holdings of tech founders, corporate leaders, and early investors who form the billionaires group.
North America remains the top place for the world’s richest people with 1,337 billionaires. Europe came in second with 1,081 billionaires, while Asia followed with 881.
Out of the 15 trillion, a group of 29 billionaires who are termed as ‘Super Billionaires’ have 4 trillion wealth which is more than a quarter.
