Shocker: China Used AI To Create War Weapons?

The open artificial intelligence infrastructure is extremely advanced in nature and it can have both positive effects and negative effects on the global economy. This is the reason why there is this constant emphasis on these leading platforms like ChatGPT and Anthropic, to monitor the activity of these models.

However, Anthropic has now established in principal that China was reportedly using their artificial intelligence platform to create military weapons.

They ran multiple Claude instances simultaneously with one writing code, one researching, one reviewing to develop guidance software for a tactical guided rocket, a 2,000+ km ballistic missile, and a hypersonic glide vehicle variant.

The specific tasks included integrating open-source autopilot onto a phone-class flight computer, writing navigation and control software, running six-degree-of-freedom trajectory simulations, and using reinforcement learning to tune flight-control algorithms.

They compiled everything into a standalone offline executable so they could keep working without Claude.

Immediately after identifying the military operations of this Anthropic AI model, Claude, the company shut down the operation access to this unit. This was a better reported by Anthropic as a misuse of the AI model.

It is scary to see some of the developed countries in the world use extremely developed AI platforms to create new military weapons that are beyond human reach. No wonder why there was a recent whistleblower, who said AI could spell the end of humanity by the end of this decade.
