Jensen Huang expressed deep concern that young and bright students may be forgetting basic mathematics because of the excessive use of Artificial Intelligence. AI is making children increasingly dependent on technology and thus leading the students relying too much on AI and leading them to forget the basic mathematics.
Jensen Huang said students are relying heavily on AI to complete their homework quickly. According to him, this could reduce their ability to think and solve problems on their own.
Speaking during a podcast, Huang was asked about the impact of AI on children and how much it is changing the way young people learn. “AI is causing children to forget basic maths,” Huang said, while also suggesting that this may not become a major problem in the future.
Huang explained that while the younger generation may forget some basic things, they are also becoming better at learning new skills and thinking at a higher level. Huang also shared a personal example during the conversation. He said that despite leading one of the world’s largest technology companies, he had himself forgotten his home address at one point.
