Instagram Is For Girls: Elon Musk

For reasons not known to the outside world, tech billionaire and X owner Elon Musk seems to have a rivalry with his fellow social entrepreneurs like Mark Zuckerberg. This is evident when he once again triggered a huge debate by openly calling that Instagram platform is for girls.

The whole controversy started when an X user named Geiger Capital posted that he finally deleted his Instagram account. He called it an app made for women with zero benefits for men. Elon Musk saw the post and quickly replied saying, “Instagram is for girls.”

Musk’s unnecessary remark has sparked an internet war with some X users rallying behind him while many others terming it a ‘Sexist’ and ‘Misogynistic’ comment aimed at creating some attention towards his platform X.

People pointed out that Instagram is used by billions of men and women every day for business, photos, and entertainment. Some even mocked Musk by saying he creates unnecessary drama just to push people to use his own platform X instead of Meta apps.

Interestingly, this is not the first time Musk tried to belittle Meta platforms. Previously, he made the same ‘Instagram is for girls’ statement during a viral debate about online habits. At that time, he even made fun of adult men who sent him links to their Instagram accounts, asking if they were changing their gender.

Usually, all social media platforms have user base spanning genders and age groups. But, there is no reliable data to show that Instagram is dominated by female users. So, it is unclear if Musk relied on any data to give his opinion or simply wanted to express his hate against Meta.
