Finance Influencer With 1.3M Followers Dies By Suicide

Finance influencer V Harish, popularly known as Finance With Harish, has died by suicide in Chennai. The 27 year old influencer, who shared financial and investment related content, had around 1.3 million followers on social media.

Harish was found dead at his rented villa in Muttukadu, Chennai on Tuesday. His death has sparked a debate on social media, with his family raising concerns over the alleged online harassment he faced.

Harish’s father Vinayagam, has accused YouTuber Jason Samuel of targeting his son through online posts and videos. He alleged that the repeated attacks and the blocking of Harish’s social media accounts caused him severe mental distress.

According to reports, Harish’s Instagram account was disabled in September, following which he started posting videos through a new account. His father has sought a police investigation into the alleged cyberbullying.

Jason has denied cyberbullying Harish, stating that he had questioned the influencer’s claims about financial advisory credentials. He expressed shock over Harish’s death and said he never expected the situation to end this way. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.
