Landing Longest Flight: Air India’s All-Women Crew Sets History

Air India has made history by landing its longest flight route from San Francisco to Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru. What’s more interesting is that the landmark feat was entirely done by the female crew.

The flight covered a total distance of 16000 kilometers by flying through the North Pole. Speaking about the achievement, captain Zoya Aggarwal said that she is very happy and proud to be a part of this achievement. The fact that the flight is managed by an all-female crew made it special. Zoya further added that this route saved 10 tonnes of fuel.

Appreciating this brilliant effort, Union Minister for Civil Aviation, Hardeep Singh Puri tweeted, “Way to go girls! Professional, qualified & confident, the all women cockpit crew takes off from San Francisco to Bengaluru on @airindiain’s flight to fly over the North Pole. Our Nari Shakti achieves a historic first.”

Former CM and TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu lauded the crew of the flight. He wrote, “Congratulations to Captain Zoya and her all-women Air India crew that scripted history by flying the San Francisco-Bengaluru flight, over the North Pole. We’re proud of you!”
