2 Women & A 4-yr-old Girl Shot In New York’s Time Square

Time Square in New York, which is usually filled with astir streets, witnessed a shooting on Saturday that left a four-year-old girl and two women injured. The gun violence took place at 5:00 pm local time at the intersection of 7th Avenue and 44th Street.

A four-year-old child was in a stroller at the time of the incident and she was hit in the leg while her family was buying toys. The two other women are a 46-year-old woman hit in the foot and a 23-year-old tourist from Rhode Island hit in the leg.

All three victims were rushed to a hospital in Manhattan, and are out of danger now. The New York police commissioner Dermot Shea held a press briefing on the incident and the condition of victims.

NYPD said that there were three bystanders, who didn’t know each other, stumbled into an argument between two to four men. One of them fired a gun in a heat of a moment.

Cops released surveillance camera footage of a wanted man. The Times Square Alliance released a report recently stating that the area recorded 25 violent crimes in the first quarter of 2021, with violent shootings sharply increased since the summer of 2020.
