For the first time in the last 20 years, the United States is deploying a significant number of military troops in the West Asia region, marking a major development.
Amid rumours that Iran has deployed around 1 million soldiers near its borders to prevent a potential land invasion, the United States has reportedly positioned about 3,500 Marines in the region.
According to the latest communication from the US command centre, a Marine Expeditionary Unit comprising around 3,500 sailors and Marines, along with transport aircraft, strike fighters, amphibious assault units and tactical assets, has been deployed near Iran.
This could indicate the possibility of a land invasion in the near future, as both Iran and the United States appear to be mobilising their forces. However, neither country has officially confirmed any such plans.
Meanwhile, Iran has been repeatedly warning the United States that it is fully prepared for a land invasion and is ready to respond. These statements were initially seen as an attempt to deter the US, but the situation appears to be escalating with increased troop movement in the region.
