Copying is very common in the film industry, but filmmakers defend themselves by saying they get inspired by others’ work and recreate some scenes. But here’s a story of how a Tamil director took revenge on Tollywood when he found that some of the Telugu films have scenes lifted from his works. The director is Sundar C, who’s his movie Aranmanai 4 releasing today as ‘Baak’ in telugu.
In an interview, Sundar expressed his dismay at the fact that he came across a Telugu movie that seemed to have borrowed content from his own films. He revealed that he later found similarities to his work in several other Telugu films as well.
Then, he decided to make a film in Tamil by lifting some scenes from other Telugu films, and it was the 2003 film Winner. The director did not mention the names of Telugu films that carried his work, and he did not even take the names of films he used for Winner.
Interestingly, Sundar C’s film Aranmanai 4 features Tamannaah and Raashi Khanna in lead roles and is set to be released as Baak today.
