Raju & Murari Set for a Republic Day Weekend Boost!

This year’s Sankranti once again proved why Tollywood trade circles keep high hopes on the festival week as all movies witnessed solid revenues irrespective of the reviews and word of mouth. Despite heavy competition, it was a bountiful box office season for all buyers.

Three out of the five releases attained hit status with Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Mana Shankar Vara Prasad Garu emerging as an outright Sankranti winner. Naveen Polishetty’s Anaganaga Oka Raju and Sharwanand’s Nari Nari Naduma Murari also turned out to be profitable ventures for all buyers.

The Raja Saab and Bhartha Mahasayalaku Wignyapthi lost steam after a good start, with the former receiving mixed reviews and the latter drawing decent reports.

After the festival ended, all films witnessed a considerable drop in the footfalls during weekdays. While Chiru’s MSG continues to dominate the box office with decent occupancies, both Anaganaga Oka Raju and Nari Nari Naduma Murari are able to pull in moderate revenues in the crucial weekdays.

Now, a crucial and hopeful weekend is coming up for all Sankranti films. With Monday being Republic Day, the next three days including weekend might likely help these three films to draw crowds to theatres. This weekend will mostly be the last hope for Sankranti movies to add more revenues into their kitty as the footfalls might see a sharp decline from next week.

While Mana Shankar Vara Prasad Garu might still continue to hold decent after weekend due to lack of any films, both Anaganaga Oka Raju and Nari Nari Naduma Murari will find it difficult to get decent footfalls after Monday. Both films are set to gain momentum this weekend and add as much revenue as possible.

It is almost curtains for both Raja Saab and Bhartha Mahasayalaku Wignyapthi, as they failed to sustain after the festival season ended.
