Breaking: Trump Claims Iran Supreme Leader Khamenei Is Dead

In what could be a huge turning point in the ongoing warlike situation in the Middle East, Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was reportedly killed in the massive US and Israeli airstrikes on Iran, as per the latest announcement from US President Trump. But it will be noted that the Iranian government has not officially declared it.

Earlier Reuters reported that, the body of Ali Khamenei has been found and he is confirmed dead. The reports further claimed that US President Donald Trump has been shown visuals of Khamenei’s dead body after it was retrieved from the rubbles of the building which was attacked by the missile strikes led by a joint operation from the military forces USA and Israel.

In Iran’s theocratic system of government, the Supreme Leader is the most powerful figure in the country ranking above the president, parliament, and judiciary. Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has been Iran’s Supreme Leader since 1989 and ruled the country with a iron fist.

If his death is confirmed, there could be a de-escalation of the current situation as Iran will have no other option but to concede defeat and surrender.

Tensions flared up on Saturday morning after United States and Israel carried out strikes inside Iran by targeting the locations of top Iranian leaders and called for the Iranian government to fall. Iran retaliated in no time by firing missiles at Israel and at Gulf countries that host US bases. More than 200 people were reportedly killed during these strikes.
