Naga Babu Opens Up On MAA Building & Its History

Last evening hero Nandamuri Balakrishna opened up on Movie Artists Association (MAA) elections which drew a lot of headlines. NBK added that he would make a contribution from his side for MAA building and questioned on the previous funds raised from the USA visit. These comments invited debate among MAA members.

Mega brother Naga Babu has reacted indirectly to NBK’s comments and tried to throw the blame on Murali Mohan and YSR led Congress government. Speaking to a media channel, Naga Babu said, “When film industry was shifting from Chennai to Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh Film Development Corporation (APFDC) was established and Murali Mohan acted as the chairman. Lands in Hyderabad were allotted for studios and chamber. But somehow land for the MAA building was not allocated and so a room in the Chamber was used for MAA activities.”

Adding Naga Babu said, “After 2004 when Congress came into power, Murali Mohan was MAA President. When he approached then CM YSR, the latter replied that Murali Mohan who is into real estate business and so he can take care of the matter. That way YSR closed doors for the film industry. Eventually the MAA building issue got neglected by successive MAA Presidents but yes a few attempts were made but they did not yield any result and state government policies are also one of the reasons.”

On unanimous MAA polls which was pitched by Vishnu Manchu, Naga Babu said, unanimous happens when people are threatened and it’s only a question of perspective. “Why should Vishnu withdraw from the polls? I welcome him and ultimately MAA members should vote,” said Naga Babu.

The Mega brother who is backing versatile actor Prakash Raj said, he has a clear vision for development of MAA. “I will do my best for the victory of Prakash Raj in the MAA elections,” added Naga Babu.

Unlike before Naga Babu did not make any harsh comments on NBK but stuck to the core issues within MAA.
