My father is against me contesting MAA Polls: Vishnu

After announcing the members of his panel, hero Vishnu Manchu called on the press and shared his thoughts. But Vishnu’s remarks are quite harsh in nature and also it shows the current status of Movie Artists Association (MAA).

“MAA President role is not a tag but a responsibility and I’m confident that I can handle it efficiently. None in my panel and well-wishers are happy in the manner elections are scheduled and are going to be held. My father is against me contesting the MAA elections because he has been in the industry for 46 years now and never has he seen the industry divided,” stated Vishnu.

The ‘Mosagallu’ actor recalled the 2015-16 elections when late Dasari Narayana Rao and Murali Mohan had asked Vishnu to contest for the Executive President. “Back then my father stopped me because I had a handful of films and was also inexperienced. Now I can confidently say that I can bring a change in MAA which has many challenges,” said Vishnu.

On his opposition panel which called ‘MAA is not a charity organisation’ Vishnu responded that when we are giving pensions to aged actors, why to use the term charity.

Comedians Prithviraj, Babu Mohan, Gautham Raju, Karate Kalyani and actor Siva Balaji accompanied Vishnu in the press meet.
