And the latest news is, the director has opened up about the sequel to Uppena. Buchi Babu said that Uppena 2 will not only be a pan-India film but a pan-world film. He said he wrote the story for Uppena 2 even before he wrote Uppena’s. He further expressed his excitement over the captivating script that it turned out.
Sukumar’s student Buchi Babu seemed confident about the sequel and through Uppena, he earned accolades for portraying a unique love story. The film is produced in collaboration with Naveen Yerneni and Y. Ravi Shankar of Mythri Movie Makers in a collaboration with Sukumar Writings.
By the end of its theatrical run, Uppena’s grossed nearly Rs100 crore, earning a net profit of Rs57 crore. On the work front, unofficial news comes in that Buchi Babu will soon collaborate with Jr NTR to whom he has reportedly narrated a beautiful sports drama.
