US: Pushpa First Indian Film To Set Record

Allu Arjun’s Pushpa is showing its strength at the US box office. The film has raked in over 1.5 million USD (11.6 Crore) gross in the first weekend. Thus, it becomes the first Indian movie to set this record post pandemic. So, far, Pushpa collected a gross of 15,19,989 USD.

Through Thursday night premieres, Pushpa earned a gross of 5,43,603 USD. On Friday, the film collected a gross of 4,30,872 USD. On Saturday, the film earned 3,90,151 USD and on Sunday, it raked in 1,55,363 USD. Overall, in the first weekend, Pushpa did make over 1.5 million USD.

While Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi-starrer Love Story collected 1.26 million USD, Balakrishna and Boyapati’s Akhanda did about 1.1 million USD.

Meanwhile, Pushpa needs to rake in another 1 million USD to bring in profits for the US distributor which looks very difficult. The film’s climax is being widely criticized. Yet, the film is doing well in the US and domestic markets. Monday figures are very crucial. Let’s wait and see, where Pushpa ends up in its full run.
