Producer Sudhakar Cherukuri ventured into film production with Sharwanand’s Padi Pade Leche Manasu. The hero and producer’s second film together Aadavallu Meeku Johaarlu is due for release in couple of days on 4th of this month. Here are excerpts from interview with the producer.
How did this movie happen?
After Padi Padi Leche Mansu, we wanted to make a perfect family entertainer. We’re really impressed with the story narrated by Tirumala Kishore and it indeed was the kind of story we’re looking for. We immediately wanted to begin the movie, but it got delayed by six months due to the busy schedules of Rashmika Mandanna, Radhika and Khushbu.
What did you like the most in the story?
I loved the story set in joint family. In a family consisting of 10 women, if there is only one guy, then the excess of love they shower upon him, sometimes bring him troubles. These sequences have come out well and they will connect to all.
How was it working with so many actors?
It’s no less than an adventure to do a movie with so many actors. I didn’t expect to make movie with many senior actors. It felt like being with my family.
Did Kishore make the movie convincingly?
Tirumala Kishore, besides offering fun, also elevates family values. He could make the film within the time limit. All the actors lent complete support, so that we could complete the movie in covid time.
This is your second film with Sharwa. How’s it working with him?
Sharwa treated me like a friend or brother. Padi Pade Leche Manasu didn’t perform well. So, we were waiting for a good script to make another film together. We are learning all the things in production as not to repeat the mistakes.
Do you believe AMJ will bring family audience to theatres?
I hope, the movie will definitely bring families to theatres, because every family has aunts, grannies and parents. I too have many relatives in my family. I too got connected to the movie. Everyone will get connect to one or the other point in the movie.
Does this movie have sufficient entertainment?
Besides family drama, this movie has good dose of entertainment. The sequences between the lead pair bring laughs. The characters of Satya, Vennela Kishore and Pradeep Rawat will be more entertaining.
What did you learn from the flop result of Padi Padi?
We made the movie with 33 crores. We learnt few things, after that movie. We are now making four movies. Srikanth has been lending full support, in terms of production works.
How did the music of DSP help the movie?
DSP gave four wonderful tracks for the movie. There is another track in the movie and you will enjoy more, if you watch it in theatres.
What are your next projects?
We are making different projects right now. The stories of these movies are completely contrasting to each other. Ramarao On Duty presents Ravi Teja as a sincere Deputy Collector. Rana’s Virata Parvam is of naxal backdrop in 1945. Nani’s Dasara is another different story. The movie has Godavarikhani backdrop and a huge set is being constructed for the movie.
