Radhe Shyam BO Day 1: Good In Telugu, Dull In Hindi

Prabhas most awaited romantic thriller Radhe Shyam which hit the marquee yesterday is off to a good start in Telugu. The film emerged as the third biggest opener in Nizam, only next to Pawan Kalyan’s Bheemla Nayak and Allu Arjun’s Pushpa: The Rise.

According to various reports, Radhe Shyam raked in Rs 10.45 crore share on the first day in Nizam. However, it is heard that the BO numbers in Andhra and Ceded were relatively low. But overall, it is expected that the film will post decent Day 1 figures in the Telugu states.

Whereas, the Hindi belt numbers are quite dull. Despite promoting the film aggressively in Hindi and positioning it as a pure Hindi release, Radhe Shyam Hindi clocked in just Rs 6.5 Crore Gross in Hindi belt. The collections in Maharashtra are good but whereas other Hindi pockets are not encouraging.

This is indeed a big shock to the makers who expected the film to register big numbers in Hindi. It is irony that Radhe Shyam is doing quite opposite to Prabhas prveious film Saaho. While Saaho turned out to be disappointment in Telugu, it did well in Hindi pockets.

In the US, Radhe Shyam raked in 904K USD through Thursday premieres. The film might have crossed 1 Million USD with the Friday numbers. But the film needs to go a long way to reach the break-even in the US considering that it was sold for exorbitant price.
