Dhanush’s last three films, Jagame Thandhiram, Atrangi Re and Maaran had direct OTT releases. Jagame Thandhiram was premiered on Netflix and Atrangi Re was released on Disney+ Hotstar. Both films received a poor response and ended up as failures.
His latest release Maaran was premiered on Hotstar on March 11. Directed by Kartick Naren, this film featured Malavika Mohanan as the female lead.
Even this film opened to negative reviews and it became another disappointing venture for Dhanush and his fans.
On the personal front, Dhanush announced a divorce with his wife Aishwarya recently. Adding to his professional woes, the separation from his wife is also affecting Dhanush.
We have to see if he crosses all these hurdles and makes a strong comeback with his upcoming movies. Dhanush is currently acting in Sir, which is being helmed by Venky Atluri.
