Decoding Radhe Shyam’s failure in North?

After the debacle of Saaho, Prabhas wanted to strike back hard with a romantic drama. Thus, he chose Radhe Shyam under the direction of Radha Krishna Kumar. After being in production for several years, this movie has hit the screens last Friday.

Though the film opened on a huge note across various regions, the talk was highly disappointing. Many people came out with either mixed or negative reviews. The positive response for the flick was highly minimal.

Especially, Radhe Shyam is having a disastrous run in North India. The lack of proper promotions is affecting the film over there.

The makers must have thought that there is no need to promote the film in the North as Prabhas enjoys huge stardom there and his last film Saaho also ended up as a profitable venture in that region.

But their predictions went wrong. North Indians generally prefer to watch action films from the South. They don’t like South Indian romantic dramas. The makers failed to understand this logic. Moreover, Prabhas should have at least promoted the film in North Indian cities to get good openings.

But he flew to Italy on March 10th for a holiday. Thus, Radhe Shyam opened dull in the North and is having a disastrous run at the theatres in North India.
